Magic Lantern

Just when I thought that the onslaught of heavy fuzz might slow to a trickle, Magic Lantern had to crank the scorched earth kruat nozzle on full blast and rain down upon us with this twisted nugget of thunder. The band had a small and I mean small (ltd to 30) run of EPs that I'm sure only fast friends were able to get their grubby mitts on but thankfully Not Not Fun rescued one of the key tracks from that release and slapped it on one side of this (still limited) cassette. "At the Mountains of Madness" more than lives up to the grandiose title it is saddled with. The track pulses in waves of repeated guitar fuzzed abrasion cut through with a smattering of tweaked out flute. The flip of the cassette finds the band live and still crushing the scene with an untitled jam. Head to NNF now and pick up a copy of this before they're out. Extra added bonus each cassette is inexplicably bedazzled with an array of jewels!
